Hello!

My name is Tracy and I am an early career researcher. I study caves, spiders, and social insects. My research interests, however, do not define me.

I am also a woman, a cat mom, an aerialist, an advocate, an ally, lover of nature, eater of plants, and so much more.

Over twenty years ago I was told that girls could not pursue careers in science—but I didn’t listen. Although my scientific journey has been fraught with challenges, I continue to push forward. My experiences as a woman in STEM have propelled my career beyond the bench to help foster open science and promote equity and inclusion in academia.
